Pottery Student Work: Claying Through Heart

This post is about an aspiring artist who is a doting mom at home, an analyst at workplace and an artist by heart. Meet Pinki, who recently completed her handbuilding pottery course with Claying Thoughts. She joined our weekend pottery classes as she wanted to do something creative...something different for herself.

Pinki enjoys doing pottery in a silent way as her work speaks a lot about her. It was an absolute treat watching her creating amazing clay sculptures and pots. She was a quick learner and implemented ideas in innovative ways.

My blog would be incomplete if I do not share such wonderful work which certainly needs an applaud.

Most of her work is inspired by cute little things which her daughter adores. Her first slab work was a nameplate she made for her daughter Kashvi. It was totally adorable with a pair of shoes, candy, moon, key, and a little twinkling star.

I also liked the precision with which she converted a simple vase into a tree trunk. She used natural tree bark to give texture to the pot.

Another masterpiece was a box made with slab. It was a not a simple square or rectangle box. It was a piece of cake with a cherry on top.
